We use digital x technology because it reduces radiation exposure compared to older x ray systems. Our team also uses a lead apron and other safety precautions to help protect your child during the imaging process. Dental x rays allow us to monitor tooth development, detect cavities early, and diagnose dental problems before they become more serious. We always carefully consider the benefits and risks before recommending any imaging for children.

The thing is, how often you need an x-ray depends on what’s going on with your teeth and gums, how old you are and what treatment you need. Some people might need a new x-ray every year, while others can get by with one every now and then. We take time to figure out whether you really need one or if we can wait a bit longer. We take all that into account when deciding when to do radiographs. And if you have stuff like braces, dentures or are following up on treatment, we might need to do some more frequent imaging. The point is to give you the right care without exposing you to more than you need to.

When you come in for your Digital Xray in Beamsville, we will explain the entire process before getting started. We place a lead apron over your body and help position your head and mouth properly to capture clear and accurate images. A small camera or digital sensor is then used to take quick pictures of your teeth and jaw. Our dentist reviews the radiographs right away and discusses any concerns or treatment recommendations with you. Our goal is to make every visit comfortable, simple, and stress-free for all patients.
